Position Background:  Coordinated the financial and information systems requirements for the operations division of this $400 million department store/catalog showroom retailer.  Liaison between accounting, data processing, and merchandising divisions to insure store operations requirements were fulfilled.

 

Financial Planning:  Responsible for development and implementation of capital and expense budgeting systems for 41 retail stores.  Created store management evaluation/compensation plan to tie management salaries to showroom productivity/profitability.

 

IT Project Management:  Managed project team created to develop a new retail operating concept utilizing microcomputers to capture point of sale and store traffic data to ease customer flow, and improve inventory control.    The scope of this project included assessment, system design, pilot testing, and company wide installation.

 

Consumer Behavior:  Using Monte Carlo simulation, processed chain-wide customer arrival and purchasing sample data to predict service requirements at store level.  Model outcomes were used to generate seasonal staffing schedules for all stores in each merchandise department.
