Position Background: Assumed responsibility for the financial and accounting management of this hardwood lumber manufacturer with the objectives of reducing manufacturing costs, streamlining administrative functions, and expanding capital to achieve plant expansion objectives.
Financial & Accounting Management: Managed all financial and accounting functions of this major hardwood lumber manufacturer. Developed the prospectus and pro forma financial statements, and successfully funded a $ 5 million acquisition. Performed numerous in-depth cost and feasibility studies to reduce costs and improve manufacturing methods.
Information Systems Development: Installed and modified the company’s first fully integrated computerized accounting and financial reporting system. Modified open systems software to accomplish accounting and inventory requirements unique to the lumber manufacturing environment. Created programs to provide accountability and track costs of inventory from timber tracts to finished lumber inventory.
Estate Tax Planning: Completed estate tax analysis for the CEO of this closely held corporation which resulted in reduced tax burden and accomplished asset transfer objectives to family employees via Type E reorganization.
