Position Background: Entered the US Army as ROTC reserve officer in Air Defense Artillery. Received formal officer’s basic training and specific anti aircraft weapons and tactical coursework at Fort Bliss, Texas. Assigned to the Fort Hood, Texas as platoon leader in the 1st of the 68th Air Defense Artillery battalion in support of the 1st Cavalry Division. Secret clearance. Honorable Discharge.
Leadership/Organization: Served as platoon leader and executive officer in this air defense Vulcan/Chaparral battery. Trained, motivated, and led this 4 squad, 25 member platoon to consistently achieve outstanding to excellent performance ratings in field training exercises. Honor graduate of 1st Cavalry Chemical Biological training course. Ranked as 6th of 25 battalion Lieutenants,; 2nd of 15 reserve officers assigned to battalion.
Public Relations/Business development: Selected as recruiting officer for the high priority “Unit of Choice” recruiting effort for the First Cavalry Division responsible for the Los Angeles District. Achieved fourfold increase in 1st Cavalry enlistments.
